I can't wait to turn 40. Because when I do, all my best book club friends will show up at my house in the dark of night (about 9 pm because that's as late as they can wait before they get too tired. Hmmm ... I hope one of them can still drive after dark when it gets to be my turn!) and throw toilet paper up in my trees, write funny messages on paper plates and stick them in my lawn, pull out any children's toys they can find, and generally wreak havok. All the while telling all the curious neighbors who drive by and stop to see what's going on to BUZZ OFF!
Then when my husband comes home just as they are leaving, they will turn around, and drive past the house very slowly until he gives chase. Then they'll head into the nearest church parking lot where they will drive in circles screaming and laughing like teenage girls
in a minivan
with car seats.
And I will be so sad I wasn't there to do it with them.
