We didn't make caramel apples that first year to start a tradition ... it just happened. Now, we've been doing it for at least the last 5 years.
This year, as youngest member of the family, Katie got the job of unwrapping the caramels.
Kathryn, you did a great job!
(p.s. love the pony tail)
Then, we decorated.

The marshmallows were a big hit.

Of course they were Daddy's idea; I picked the chopped walnuts (I could have toasted them, I think next year I will) and mini chocolate chips.

What's Katie doing under the table?
Oh, of course, finding dropped chocolate chips!
We were quite prolific this year; 10 apples in all!
Sorry, Ry. I can't believe I didn't even take a picture of you laying sick on the couch. I was pretty sure you'd miraculously find the strength to join us.
Next year. I promise, next year.

Yum! Looks like it was super fun! I've always wanted to start a caramel apple dipping/making tradition on purpose. Pretty sure we'll do it once Charlie knows what's happening. I LOVE a caramel apple.
And Katie's hairstyles are FAB!
and thanks for sending that costume. You're the best!
oh, and i'll get right on shopping for some sweet luggage.
What wonderful 'serious' family fun. Everyone is so intent on what they are doing. You all did a great job. The apples look so good--almost too good to eat. I'm sorry Ryan didn't feel like having fun. I hope somebody made him an apple. I'm glad Katie didn't let any of those chocolate chips under the table go to waste. elb
Mike in a BYU Cougars sweatshirt. Enough said!
Good job Emily! Who could have predicted that the darling little challenge you were to your mom could turn in to such a great mom herself! I'm so impressed! Love, Vontie
