My 33rd Birthday was a very busy day! After getting the big kids off to school and Jack and Katie off to the neighbor's, I went to my friend Tami's house for breakfast with Tawnya Kirkland and Allyson Lukenga.
I wore a new shirt.
Because I had a bunch of gift cards and went shopping the day before.
And I got stuff!

At breakfast we had fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, Tami's raw granola with soy milk and cinnamon pull aparts, but I learned they are really called "Monkey Bread" and that made me happy. Still does.
What a pleasant way to start the day.
After that I went to get my teeth cleaned (What?! Yes, I really went to the dentist on my birthday).
Then I went home and got Katie some lunch, sent her with Sherrie, and I went to Jack's school to help with centers.
At 2 o'clock I tutored Melissa Adams, one of my favorite students. We talked polar coordinates which isn't one of my favorite topics, but that's okay. I actually learned something about defining the angle with a negative theta. Hmmm . . .
After Ryan and Maddie and Jack got home, we went to the park and played. Then we took Ryan to Wal-mart to meet up with the basketball-practice-in-Mesquite carpool, and the rest of us headed to Olive Garden to meet Mike for dinner.

I chose Olive Garden because the kids love it and we never go there, and it's birthday time for three of us. Unfortunately Ryan couldn't be there. Another day for him. . . .

On the way home from dinner we picked up ice cream, brownies and hot fudge sauce at Harmon's and after tubs, we had a birthday treat.
I got presents too! Maddie made me a cute card; Mike got me a new running watch and some darling flip flops. My Grandma Butler sent me flowers. My mom sent me chocolates. My neighbor (and photographer) Tami is taking pictures of my kids. I got cards. Sherrie gave me a cyclamen. A cyclamen is an "elegant, bushy house plant ornamented by frilly flowers." I love elegant and frilly. People called. People emailed. I felt so special. I still do.
Thanks for a great birthday!
P.S. Yes, Katie is wearing a Hanna Montana shirt in that picture. No, I didn't buy it for her; that was Grandma Sherrie's work. Katie loves that shirt. So, I do too.
