She's big enough now though that we need to change her diaper if she wakes. We both do have to wake for that. She usually cries and fusses about it. I usually don't.
She woke again at 6:39. Happy. Cooing. My favorite.
Mike got up to get Jack breakfast. I lay in bed a little longer. Family scriptures were a fail today--it's such a small window of time, and we just didn't make it. Maddie was getting ready to go to school early to retake a math test. Katie had to go early for choir. She is early release all week, so we'll do piano after school.
Mike continued to man the kitchen, today delivering breakfast to the basement--fruit salad and toasted english muffins. I nursed Lily again and then we blew up some balloons. Lily didn't know what to think of them.
Once the balloons were loaded into big black trash bags for delivery to the school later, I made carrot juice--my contribution to our health this morning.
Soon it was time to go. We left carrot juice mess and dressed quickly for a trip to the school. Today Maddie's basketball team left for the state tournament at the Maverick Center in West Valley. I got to be one of the moms that decorated the bus. Balloons and window paint were my contribution. Other moms brought food, streamers, treat bags, curled messes of gold ribbons; we decked that bus out.
The bus driver was an older, happy man. I was afraid (before I knew he was happy) that he would be annoyed. He wasn't, and I am reminded fear is not necessary. I'm glad he is the driver.
We followed the bus out of the parking lot. Go Thunder Go
Home again, Lily nursed and went to bed. I cleaned the kitchen and felt inspired to write.
Today I'll sprinkle more love on their day:
- Katie piano
- Jack piano
- Jack will be surprised by the new flag for his go cart
- Katie's SEP
- Lily loves (always) and kisses, and laughing and wrestling, and more
- snacks
- dinner
- bed time
My heart is full.
Maddie calls this the "teen mom shot."
Good friends: Megan, Maddie, Makayla, Misty
Go Thunder!
