Grandma Lynn and Grandma Butler stayed with us for a visit after Ryan's ordination. Maddie loves practicing the piano with Grandma Lynn as she is so much more patient and knowledgeable than I am! I love it too.
Katie has just discovered that she really loves to be read to. Grandma Butler was happy to comply and they read many stories during the week.
Grandma Lynn played a lot of cards this week, particularly "Fishing For Nephites."
Grandma Butler took this darling picture of Katie. I think it captures her hair style particularly well.
For "Administrative Assistants" Day, I decided Butler Holdings was sending us out to lunch (Mom is the best administrative assistant we have)
She chose Olive Garden, and we girls had a great time.
I think Katie only ate bread sticks.
We also played a lot of Phase 10 and Rummicube. We let Ryan stay up a couple of times with the adults, and he loved it!
No trip to St. George is complete without a Concrete (or Cement, as some people have been known to call them) from Neilson's Frozen Custard. Yum!
Finally, some silliness: a well meaning neighbor of mine blessed me with a Friendship Bread starter. I wanted to throw it away since I can never seem to carry through all 10 days of the instructions of kneading the bag, and adding various ingredients. But, my mom wanted to try it, so I managed to keep the starter alive.
Apparently, when they fixed my stove, my oven went hay wire, and no longer heats up to the right temperature. The friendship bread came out so badly, we had fodder for plenty of jokes about not being a very good friend nor cook.
We were tired and it was late; believe me, this was VERY funny,
